I think I'm getting somewhere, I'm just... not sure where. I attempted to try using the Hades Workshop 'Unity Asset Viewer' and export the model, meshes, etc. in p0data4.bin for both the model I want to use and the one I want to replace as a sort of makeshift solution of 'replace character A with character B'. After that, I did something similar in p0data5.bin for their animations.

It didn't go quite right.

I think an easier solution would likely be to figure out where to set the models and animations used for the character (in this case, since I'm trying to see if I can replace Amarant with Marcus, set Amarant's model and animations to Marcus'), rather than replace them in the way I did. I don't know where to look for that though... But I'll keep trying.

I'm attempting to have one of the Tantalus members swapped into the main party in exchange for one of the more superfluous party members, or find some way to get them in here without conflicting with the character they share a slot with. I'm hoping that the swap'd offer a better group dynamic story-wise when I start editing cutscenes and dialogue, but one step at a time.

I'm wondering this too. I'm hoping to add them in alongside the other main playable characters from base game, but since they share slots with Eiko, Quina, and Amarant, I'm not having luck getting them in the party with the person they share a slot with. I'm using Hades Workshop trying to figure this out though, so that might be a factor...

I think I figured it out. When using the 'Save Steam Mod', I had to set one of the generated formats to 'Raw Assets'. It worked fine after I started using that.

I'm hoping to start learning how to mod FF9 using the Hades Workshop program, but I'm having trouble with it.

I read that I'm supposed to 'Save Steam Mod' to the 'FINAL FANTASY IX' folder (the copy or the regular one, it depends on which one I'm not using), and it'll create and replace certain files. I get 'Unable to create the file' instead. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It creates the p0data7.bin and p0data2.bin files though, but not the other files. Even if I replace those 2 files, it doesn't seem like the game changes for my test runs (I altered abilities and stats).
