Sword of Mana is pretty unfaithful to the original game. It shares some music and the basic plot but they threw out a lot of the first game when making it. Adventures of Mana on the other hand is a fully faithful remake and even better not constrained by the GBA's awful sound. Perhaps I'm too unfair to Sword of Mana, but I like Adventures way more. That it has the best remake soundtrack I've yet experienced is icing on the cake.

actually SOM is a second remake here, the sprites were redon on the andriod version already... but due licensing. I am still hoping for a DC version, because Square had to squeeze it into 12 meg modules, but planed for 16 megs...

You mean in the NES days or still in the SNES days? My brother bought games for the system, i never really had an insight in those days, a bit later in the gba era i started to play a bunch of stuff i missed form years before.

in my case it was the beginning of the SNES era, but not better on NES era :/

Played Dawn Of Souls on the gba later and SoM was one of the first games i ever played. Togheter with Links Awakening on the original Gameboy.

in europe if you wanted to play (j)RPGs expect you had to import them mostly :/

I find it funny how the US game that was named FFA was called Mystic Quest in the EU at the time and the US got another Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for the SNES. Its indeed confusing as hell what they did with so many games in those days.

The FF 3 US and FF VI worldwide is also something i can name of the top of my head.Yeah those were strange times and i'm glad this kind of thing isn't common anymore.

not only that: FF-MQ was released as MQ only in europe... Naming sucks soo much. first ever released FF of the mainline in europe was FF7 btw...

It was more the Fainal Fantasy renaming madness in the west. renamed another series as well as the FF Legend series on the GB... Well, i don´t care what it was planned for, it´s a gret game :p

It's not Final Fantasy, but it's not a bad question. I already confirmed moving the music files around is completely trivial. I don't know their format, but picking and choosing which to use old vs. new is easy.

SoM is Seiken Densetsu 2 in japan.
Seiken Densetsu 1 was Final Fantasy Adventure in the west, plus SoM has moogles...
My opinion is YES!

maybe putting those in (legal) torrents help. at least on the errors on cloud, mega and such.
And steam really sucks lately on removing stuffs, getting nasty :/ maybe you should move to another platform, discord maybe?

It is sad that can be a joke and not be a joke at the same time. If FFVII takes as long as that last game (XV I think?) we are doomed. You'd think they'd have the entire company focused on FFVII, it is their cashcow after all, even after all of these years.

A decade? DAMN GIRL! your in for the long haul.. lmao. We will more than likely get a FF6 full 3D remake within a decade, well fingers crossed it will happen.. hahaha.

I am a very patient person. I love what I love, and I'll stick with it until I'm dust and bones. :P

(hopefully our next FFVI "remake" takes a different approach to graphics than the cutesy kind FFIV and III got.)
