Yeah I know, the community here has been wonderful. I love all you guys, and I'm glad you all enjoy this stuff! It helps keep me interested for sure. I've just been unusually tired lately, not sure why. It'll pass though, I'm sure.

In terms of sheer research, a ton has been discovered just in the past couple of months. Overall things have been very productive in terms of figuring out how the game works, and fixing bugs that annoyed me in previous versions. I'm extremely anal about bugs (ask Scarlet anytime, she thinks I'm crazy for always doing things the hard way) and the few we had in the past ate away at me something fierce.. so releases kind of stopped while I reevaluated things and researched the game.

I don't like hyping things up until I'm more or less ready to release things, but here's some vague things worth mentioning for now:

- Majority of the unknowns in the game databases have been solved.
- AI can be tweaked a lot more precisely now, as opposed to manipulated like before.
- Greater control over text insertion now, even if it is a bit annoying to do.
- Battles have been mostly figured out now. (Formation\Spawns\Etc)
- Virtually all known bugs resolved from older mods, as well as some no one knew about.

I'm actually compiling something new right now for XIII-2 to take advantage of what I've learned. I've felt kind of unmotivated lately though, unfortunately. I'm trying to break out of that with this, but we'll see how long it takes. If nothing else, rest assured that we've made progress though, and continue to do so.

Either way, I think it is possible yes. And I'm definitely far enough along in my research now that it might be doable. It'd definitely be cool and add a new dynamic to things.

Yes he does they are classified as "Area Attacks" so the best way to get him to use them is to set a paradigm he's a part of as "Wide" he'll mostly use Blast Wave II though but he will use them

While this is true, he'll use them intelligently as the situation calls for it as well. Giga-Graviton is treated like a -ga line spell, whereas Ultima is treated like a -ra line spell, meaning he'll use Ultima when something is staggered and Giga when a lot of things are clustered together in general. Blast Wave II is pretty popular a cast by him, but I'm hoping in the next version I can sway his behavior into something more varied.

Gestalt mode is kind of pointless, as it really only serves to aid the l'Cie that summoned them. Odin for example, virtually all of the gestalt form attacks are done by Lightning. And then you have the Shiva sisters who turn into a motorcycle, and frankly I can think of no way to make that look good without a rider. I'm not ruling it out entirely, but it probably won't happen unless we think of a really clever way to implement it.

As for how damage will work, we won't know until we try. Ideally things work like they originally did, but sometimes things aren't so cooperative as to allow that.

I've been chipping away at something for the next release. I'm trying to clean things up internally and setup a new system for special monsters and the like. Some other little visual tweaks, maybe also some balancing crap. It's coming along, slowly.
