Hello,

Let me be the first to welcome you to the ongoing project that is Exile Island!

We started this server back in October with the goal of creating a community that would cross over into the MMO when it is released. A simple plan with the best intentions, but difficult to maintain with a game that is still in alpha at this time and lacks structured content past building a castle and maybe some PvP when you find it or it finds you.

In an attempt to fill that void and give our members something to work for, we began working on our own faction system. The early versions were too ambitious and only served to confuse people with a ruleset that was restrictive and complex. Couple these issues with some lessons we had to learn about how to keep the server itself playable and free from long load times, and you can guess that it has been one hell of a learning experience.

Now, armed with all we have discovered about the game and our own concepts, I'm pleased to announce that we believe we have the knowledge and skill to keep the server working well and create an exciting environment, with enough content, to keep people busy with all kinds of interesting options. The only thing missing is YOU!

Here are just a few things that we think makes Exile Island worth playing:

• Active GMs/Admin that really want the server to succeed by making it fun and fair for everyone.
  
  
  
• A Faction System that promotes people working together, but also allows small groups and individuals to participate.
  
  
  
• Rules that are not too restrictive, but are designed to make the game fair, fun, and free from drama as much as possible.
  
  
  
• Players that are helpful and know the game. No matter what faction you join or create, it's still one community.
  
  
  
• Teamspeak and our Website Forums keep you up to date on Server Events, Faction News, and PvP Conflicts.
  
  
  
• Chests with 24 hour claim timers to offer you more secure storage options.
  
  
  
• Alignment Events to allow you to improve your alignment beyond just praying.
  
  
  
• The possibility to train skills like Warehorse and Unarmed Combat, so that you can use chainmail and polearms.
  
  
  
• One character per account to give your place in the world of Exile Island more meaning.
  
  
  
• No long loading times, griefing, or ugly glitches because of tunnels.
  
  
  
• Resource Piles provide the ability build your village anywhere on the island and not restrict yourself to locations based on available resources.
  
  
  
• Faster gather times on many skills so that you're spending less time looking at status bars and more time doing what you enjoy.

While our original goal of forming a community is still a priority, we understand that basing it on this game alone may not be possible. The good news is that a lot of our members are great people to know and no matter what happens in the future of Life is Feudal, I have made friends that will be around no matter what games we choose to explore.
