[Aug. 27] New Standalone Server TEST!

Hey folks, I'm making another attempt at running a persistent standalone server. This feature for EU4 allows hosts to run a game for multiplayer on a different server - so if I dropped, the game still goes on!

Try to join up, and let's see if it's working.

I can't get it to be visible in the Internet Games browser for EU4, but I think if you manually put in the server ID code, you can access it.

How to join:

1. Launch the game, and go to "Multiplayer".
2. Click "Connect to ID"
3. Type in the provided server code for the currently running standalone server into the field marked "ServerID"

As of Aug. 17th - the currently running server is at:

9008 7492 4943 37024 (leave out the spaces)

Password will always be: " eugc " that stands for Europa Universalis Gaming Community.

4. Then connect.

I currently am logged into the server as Kongo, while testing it out. I'll try to just let the server stay running all night, it's on a spare computer I have and seems to work OK.

Try to connect, let's see if this can work!

Ok, the test worked! I kept my stand alone server up all evening, and I can see from the log that some folks logged in and played for a bit.

I'm going to test this some more this week, and set up a plan for keeping a server up for this group full time.

Just hoping to give this at least one more test. The last patch had some fixes for the standalone server, it looks like, from the patch notes.

you're in for a world of headaches, we've tried it all since then we've been playing europa 3 again til they fix the multiplayer its torture
