Board games will be held on Saturday, October 6th (Descent 2nd Ed)

Organizing some board games on the Second Saturday of each month at my place (possibly also Dan's too). Feel free to redis my apartment info.

It will have better, more up-to-date information. If you're not familiar with Discord, it's basically slack for gamers, game developers and other such moogins.

I believe there is a fully functional mobile app for it as well, in the event you don't have a working computer (not naming names here).

I currently have the XCOM boardgame (with expansion) and Descen: The Dark Journeys 2nd Ed without any of the expansions. We have to play it, so I'll pick up expansions as I get feed back on whether to continue with it.

Other games are welcome, but here is the rub:

Most Fantasy Flight and professional board games are 1 - 4 player. We could have 6 - 8 players. There are ways we can smudge this and get 5 and -maybe- 6 players into one of them, but 6+ player games would also be good. I may pick up a new game/expansion each month for us to try out, but keep in mind the investement in time required to learn them will probably make expansions more reasonable until we want something fresh.

Mostly keeping this to the local group, but let me know if you want to invite others. Would rather not post this to meetup, but always good to get fresh blood.

The final galaxy reset hasn't come through yet, and I'm waiting on a hotfix to patch the server.

Patch notes:

Valentine’s Day items including swords, costumes, decorations, bow, etc
Engine feature, tech can now be granted by armors
Keybinding reconfiguration, minus the UI (you can reconfigure keys through a config file- check here for a tutorial)
Server stability fixes for servers with many players
New death animations
Engine feature, all objects are now scriptable and interactive
More Avian weaponry
Projectile changes
Dogs can now be captured (lots more pets coming soon)
A bunch of new items and smaller pieces of content
New (actually sounds good!) microphone instrument with sounds provided by Smooth McGroove!
Bug where warping to magma/volcano biomes caused crashing was fixed.

I'm getting ready to update the server with the latest patch. This should be the final character wipe. The galaxy has been wiped as well, but they haven't announced whether there will be more of those in the future, so keep your important stuff on your character!
