The Deutsche Democratic Republic will be considering significant constitutional changes at a Constitutional Convention that has been scheduled next month. The People's Chamber will debate a number of reforms to the East German political system. There's no official word yet, but speculation is abound that the ruling Socialist Unity Party will allow elections to the People's Chamber to be more democatic than they have been in the past. This speculation was fuelled by a statement made by Horst Sindermann, President of the People's Chamber, in which he indicated that the Chamber would soon "take on a whole new significance" and allow for a "greater degree of debate".

A minor constitutional amendment just unanimously passed to reform the East German State Council. The Council previously consisted of one Chairman, several Deputy Chairmen (typically 6 or 7), one Secretary, and many ordinary members (typically 16 or 17). The Chairman of the State Council is the head of state and effectively the President of the DDR, while the Secretary considers public petitions, and other members serve advisory/honorary positions. In order to reduce bureaucratic waste, the reform eliminates the ordinary members, reducing the size of the State Council from 24-26 down to 8-9 members, including the Chairman, the Secretary, and the Deputy Chairmen. The ordinary members have resigned following the passage of the reform, making it effective immediately.

They are this turns the presidential elections in Hungary today, with 92% flow the elections see the victory and reengagement of Jànos Kàdar to the Hungarian presidency.
Although the elections were free the Nationalistic candidate Zoltán Pokorni he has been refused since representative a party of right. The liberals have avoided to propose a candidate not to crack the relationships with the Communists following the percentages of every candidate :

- Jànos kàdar: 65% Communist party

- Mátyás Rákosi: 23% Communist party

- Zoltán Pokorni: 2% party Nationalist

- Attila Mesterházy: 10% Socialist party

In an effort to save money, with the backing of the German people, and in reliance on the free market to do what the government cannot, or should not, the West German government is ending their welfare programs. The private industries in all fields can and will provide better services that the government.

To make up for the people who will lose jobs or benefits, the government will subsidize the private insurance companies so that they lower their premiums and bring in more people to insure, thus ending that crisis. These subsidies will only go on until 1985, where of the deal between the companies and the government will need to be re-negotiated.

The West German government is no longer in the business of taking from Joe and giving to Jack, but we will give both Joe and Jack equal oppurtunity of success and prosperity, as all freedom-loving nations should. The way forward is less interventionism and protectionism by the West German government in the economic livlihoods of their people, which has proven most successful thus far.
