Just wanted to let you know that we brought back the real-time chat-stream from our DST servers to our community chat, so you can see what's happening in-game in realtime.

Simply join our Discord server and peek into the #play-public and #play-group channels to see what's happening on our servers.

It's still in beta and we're going to make constant changes, to make it even better in the future!

• ... chat with other community members in real-time.
  
• ... directly contact owners and keepers of DST Academy to give feedback or ask questions.
  
• ... use the build-in voice-channels per server and also the ingame-overlay.

What is Discord?
Discord can be compared to Skype or Teamspeak as it offers text and voice chat and much more. You can run it in your web-browser or download an app for your desktop or smartphone.

What does it cost?
It's free.

We're happy to announce that we're going to introduce our first two DST:A keepers on our servers.

Seer of Void and spinksy will help you out as game-server administrators on our servers from now on. We will also disabled kick-voting for now, so trolls have no possibility to kick other players anymore.

We're still looking for more administrators, so feel free to apply. More details can be found in our previous announcement.

In addition to this we've installed a few mods which should help fight against griefers and trolls but also support new players joining the servers in mid-winter or mid-summer by putting some starting-items in their hands.

Mods should enrich the gameplay experience but they should not change the core game-mechanics we all love. Here's a list of the mods we've installed on our servers:

Most of the mods have been configured to have a very small impact on the core gameplay-mechanics. They should help enjoy the game more, but they shouldn't change how DST works.

The public server has already been updated. The group server will be updated until the end of the weekend.

We're looking for game-server administrators - we'd like to call them DST:A keepers. Those will get administrative rights on our game-servers to be able to kick/ban players and, in general, are responsible (to a certain extend) for ensuring a friendly atmosphere on our servers.

For applying as a DST:A keeper you should fulfill these requirements:

• 18+ years old.
  
• Fluent in English.
  
• 100+ hours of Don't Starve Together played.
  
• Actively playing Don't Starve Together.
  
• Ideally experience in moderating servers/communities.
  
• Willing to play on our servers now and then. (Of course.)
  
• Being a member of the DST:A Steam community. (Of course.)

As a DST:A keeper your responsibility will be to ...

• aid players which are in need of help.
  
• show new players how to master the game.
  
• educate players about the community rules.
  
• maintain a friendly atmosphere on the servers.
  
• gracefully handle situations involving grievers and trolls and similar.
  
• join and hang out on our Discord Server.
  
• provide feedback to us who run DST:A.
  
• have a good time on our servers.
  
• have fun in general in our community.

We ask you to provide the following details in your application.
(We will not give these details to anybody else.)

• Your age.

• Your Don't Starve Together ID. (KU_*)
  
• Link to your Steam profile.
  
• Timezone in which you live/play.
  
• Short description of your experience in administrating game-servers/communities.

It's also planned to deactivate kick-voting on the servers after we're confident that there are enough administrators to cope with player requests and situations. We're also working on community and server rules which we will publish soonish.

Close to reaching 100 Steam group members we thought it's about time to launch a second server. This one is dedicated to our group members and can only be joined when being a member of the DST Academy Steam group.

It features 8 player slots and also comes with caves enabled.
