FACEIT Changes for the next season

"What's up, FACEIT crowd? I've got a couple of changes coming at you for the February Season - see below!

    February Changes (Season):
  • 100,000 FP for the Season as usual, though this month only the Top 50 places will be rewarded (down from Top 100).
  • The points that were handed out to participants in the 51-100 bracket in previous seasons have been distributed across the other placements. The top spot now earns a whopping 12,500 FP points.
  • You will now be required to play at least 3 matches to have your position recorded on the seasonal leaderboard. This is to prevent people playing one game a month and dipping out, whilst still receiving points. I'd like to reward those actively playing competitive, and I feel that this is a good first step in that process. Bonus Weekends are unchanged.
  • Win streak bonus points have been reduced (+3 points for a 5 win streak, down from +5).
  • Bonus/malus points will be slightly higher this season. Previously you received a low number of bonus points for beating someone higher placed than you, or lost a few more for losing to someone lower down the leaderboard. This season you will receive a medium amount of points instead. This will mean clutching up against a tough team will be oh-so-more rewarding, and will hopefully see for a more fluid, competitive leaderboard.
