List of Similar Groups
Greetings fellow gamers!
A lot of us have been taken in by bad games and designers. Be it from outright lies and scams, or just vague and misleading advertising. Or, perhaps you were being critical with your feedback, and were banned as a "haytor". Critical though is not "hate".

You are not alone.

Networking!
There are a number of groups, scattered around, with the same basic purpose. Some are dedicated to just one game, some for many games and/or developers. We must reach out to one another.

Hindsight IS 20/20. If we knew now what we knew before we paid good money for back then, many of us would not have given these the developers anything. By coming together, we can help to warn others, and stop rewarding the bad developers. We can't change the past, but we can help save others. Many have been saved money and disappointment by our experiences, but only when we shared the warning.

Information is power, letting others know about what YOU know is key. We should connect and share our experiences of terrible developer practices. It would probably be best if we networked many groups together. Join other groups and share our groups with others.

Word of mouth can be a powerful tool. Help spread the word and get the word out!

Here are just a few groups, please add more if you find them! These are just steam groups, but it doesn't have to be limited to steam only!

(Note: The point of this thread is to help spread the information we know to others. It's not a membership drive or an attempt to steal memberships. The more you know, the better you are in making informed decisions. Check them out and join them if you wish. Some might not interest you. My apologies if this thread is duplicated elsewhere or misplaced. )

not a bad idea actually! we grow pretty fast and i think our group will have a loud voice on steam. it already is pretty loud and even valve notices what we do (check my artworks for more about that).

oh and welcom and thanks for joing if i didn´t say that elsewhere already. ;) please invite all that think like us and want to change greenlight to a better place again. our blacklist is already very good and helps in spotting the :slugpoo: devs early.
Thanks & Hi!
I'll be posting this to the other groups so that everyone can share with one another.
Tryyton 3 Nov 2015 @ 7:49pm
sure, but please don´t advertise our group in any comments about games or places like that. i don´t know a better name yet, but you might want to change the title to something more specific.
Only posting to other, like minded groups, unless you would prefer to be unlisted to some. Not posting this on game forums or the like. "Networking" and "Unity" didn't seem to fit as a good title.
Tryyton 3 Nov 2015 @ 7:58pm
sounds good to me with the groups... "unity against bad devs" or so could work. it´s too early for me to come up with something good now. ;)
i added greenDB, check that one out too.
Cool, I'll update the OP on others. Sounds a bit better than the original.
How about "Unite against bad developers?"
Tryyton 3 Nov 2015 @ 8:17pm
fits pretty good i think

I wouldn't include the GreenDB in the list because there are bad devs in that group and there will likely be more to come. The info is really useful to us, but the group isn't. Malik isn't concerned with the quality of games, he is concerned with information about Greenlight and what it takes to get greenlit, which is fair enough. But the bottom line is our group would not be appreciated by that group. GreenDB is really a group for devs, so our group would be a threat to a number of them.

The Doctor Is In has a group dedicated to asset flipping. I can't find him by searching, so when I see him comment on a greenlight again, I will look on his profile to get the name of his group.
Interesting info, Gana... I haven't posted this thread to that group yet, either. The information and project is useful, to be sure. Much like the Steam charts is to track players playing. Think I'll remove it from the lists for now at the least.

Perhaps they can still be usefull to the cause, if only to provide info from their site.

Here's 'The Slaughtering Grounds' and it's players over the last six months.

Maybe adding this to the list would be a good idea, instead? (minus the GreenDB Steam group)

Ok, I found the group 'The doctor is in' runs called Asset Watch: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/groups/AssetWatch
The group's purpose is to keep an eye out for asset flips.
Thank you, looks like a good addition to the list!

This guy tried to get 210k $ for a visual novel which is already finished and it seems like it was released for free a while ago.

Are you sure that you're posting this in the right thread MundM?

@Jon144 Well..I can't find the Greenlight warning discussion anymore :-/
Yes, Jon rearranged the forums and added a few extra. The long way around to finding Greenlight Warnings now is to look on the right at the list of forums, go to Greenlight and then you'll find Greenlight Warnings or http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/groups/digitalhomicides/discussions/1/496879865891572197/

Also subscribe to the thread. You'll constantly have notifications you can click on to take you straight to it. ;)
