No longer standalone? :((

While i appreciate the massive amount of work that must go into this project(thx again btw)
one of the best features of this mod is that when map changes was switched off this mod was essentially Host Only with Clients not needing the mod to experience the fun.

I am REALLY gonna miss hosting public DW+ servers where anyone can join just like a normal game and honestly i think you are reducing your potential audience for this mod SEVERLY.

I really hope this mod goes back to a host only version or variant because it really is one of my all time faves but until that happens Im gonna keep using my current version so I can still Host easy PUBLIC slayfests ;)
I just hope overkill doesnt break it with an update....

It was either that, or crash non mod users. Seeing how people liked to bitch and moan when they were non modded clients about the mod not doing anything, I was getting sick of it as well.

I can code in C++ so maybe I can have a look at maintaining/making a cop mod only version since i think i remember u saying that its only the map changes that are causing people issues.

Maybe you could add a message like "If you want to join this heist get the Deathwish+ Mod" or something.
Now its very sad, that just a bunch of users know that piece of gold and play it.

I can honestly say there are two reactions when unaware people join a dw+ server
and "dw+ = Harder than DW" pops up.

1. Player has disconected - read "Oh shit"
2. Player stays connected = read "Hugs xx"

Can someone point me at the Payday 2 API?

I have managed to strip the Cop only sections out of DW+ and am looking at making an Overkill+ mode too (All from older DW source) but I need the API to make any definitive changes and allow for changes in the PD2 app so updates dont break it.

Also(to Ellie) would it be ok to release this version and also where would be the best place to release if you say yes.

ps. Its no where near ready yet for release btw and I dont see the point since the DW+ version prior to this still works and is functionally the same.

there's already mods that affect the difficulty in pretty much the same way, i really dont think we need any more considering mods like sc's mod are much better than dw+ anyway

sc is correct, both mods require all users to have it, i dont know where you got the idea that dw+ doesn't require it seeing how i said in the annoucement and mentioned it explicitly several times that you can only play with other dw+ users now
