RIP Josie

Josie was an interesting child, he grew up in a northern village, rather empty. He simply wanted to prove to others he was old enough for this world. His parents were soon slaughtered by guardsman after his mother was framed for witchery killing their livestock. Soon after watching his parents hang at the gallows, he didn't whimper nor cry, it simply burned inside of him to push him out of the world. He grew up on the road, turned to hunting and mercenary work, he had a decent reputation on his work. He was rather alone, til one day he was hunting, he saw a rabbit, plump, juicy, good enough to eat. As he aimed he saw rattling in the grass, the rabbit is suddenly entangled with green, screeching from it can be heard, after the struggle was over a head pops up looking all around itself. Fascinated, Josie built a stick cage to keep it. Peculiarly staring at the creature that had a bitter look on its face, a face filled with the shame of being defeated. He began carrying the creature with him for a while, feeding it scraps and such. Till one day he finally opened the cage, wondering what it would do. He kneeled down, hand out, the snake looked at him with dismissal and began slithering away. You could tell the snake was unsure of its decision but made it for the sake of his own safety. Suddenly, an eagle swoops from the sky and takes the snake victim with a vice grip. Josie, feeling a burning sensation in his chest reacted quickly, taking a spear and spearing the eagle. The mighty bird fell, rigor mortis kicked in, the snake was stuck in its claws. Josie, with an open heart helped the snake get free and decides to put his hand down to him. The snake, pausing for a moment, slithers onto Josie's arm and begins wrapping himself on his shoulder, facing forward. He gives him a loving tap with his nose, Josie felt something different, something he hadn't felt in a long time. Love. He smiled and patted the creature ontop of the head, he felt as though since theyre friends now he had to give him a name. It popped in his head quickly, with a smirk on his face he looked at the snake "Let's go, Cage."

After a few months he finally reached a settlement, low on supplies he eagerly sought out for an eagle eye potion to help with his spear throwing. He sees 2 peculiar strangers, a dragonborn and a bird man walking away, asking the clerk for eagle eye potions he is denied and told they're out. He simply responds with an angry shout "To who?" He's directed towards the bird man walking away. "OH no, I need this potion. I'm not dying today." he thought. He threatens the bird who respectfully declines his demands.

Finally, they make it outside, with Cage in his pocket, Josie dramatically tosses the coat aside to keep Cage safe.

"Let's fight like men!" Josie bravely shouts

Then suddenly, just in a flash. He's gone.. Josie was vanquished. He laid there on the floor, his body twitching, his last breath hanging in his lungs, "JOSIE!" he yells out into the sky.
