You can add nicknames to your steam friends (for people with different names than in the forum / people that change their nicknames every day)
Friends list -> drop down menu (next to name) -> "Add Nickname"

You can also group people on your friendslist into a "ct" group
Friends list -> drop down menu (next to name) -> "Tag as..."
