Trading Guide
So hello! I'll be helping explain on how to do safe trades and do it super easily too!

Trade Format

Always make sure you're very clear in the topic you're posting for trading. It's easy to get confused about exactly what is being traded and what is going on if detail on the trade topic is not there.

Always make sure to use the proper trade formats.

[W] <Enter wanted item(s) here> [H] <Enter items you're offering in return here>.

Always clarify hat exacly you are a trading and what exactly it is that you want for it in return.

Example: [H] (have) X items in exchange for [W] (wanted) X items in return for the items you're offering.

Safety During Trading

Things NEVER to trade for and what trades should ALWAYS be avoided.

DO NOT ever accept any trade offers given to you outside of the Steam trading window. This is where the vast majority of scams occur and is not worth taking the risk for.

Things like offering Real life money, Game Activation keys, or anything else at all outside of the trading window are to absolutely be avoided!

Always remember to never let someone take your items for nothing in return, as they will likely take the said items and never give you the items they proposed in the trade topic.

Additionally, always take your time when you are trading. It is very common that some scammers will attempt to rush and push you to do a trade quickly, and possibly cause you to make a mistake during the trade. Always make sure that the items you are trading for are equal in value as well.

What Happens if I DO get scammed?

If you are scammed and willingly gave the items to the other party willingly, the items cannot be returned by Steam Support, nor Valve Employees or Steam Community Moderators. In this case all you can do is report the said scammer on their profile.

Go to their main profile page and click "More". Go down to "Report Violation". Choose the options "Report suspected scam" and then enter the description of the scam that took place.
Additionally, screenshots of the scam will also greatly enforce your report.

There are several useful support articles regarding this matter. Including:

The Recommended Trading Practices.

Steam Trade Offers.

And most importanly, The Steam Item Restoration Policy.

Lastly, there are a few useful guides explaining how trades work in some better detail. This is one of the best in my personal and many have found it very useful, so here it is.:
