The Battle.net is not a clan, it's an open group of players that anyone can join, as long as they're interested in utilizing teamwork while gaming. The participants are encouraged, you can engage in teamwork with you; and by playing on Battle.net servers you are much more likely to encounter other participants, and have the best gaming experience as a result.

While we encourage Blizzard members to engage in teamwork regardless of what server they play on, we maintain a list of recommended servers which Blizzard players frequent. By playing on Battle.net servers you are much more likely to play with other participants, resulting in the best gaming experience possible. All servers go through a rigorous approval process that ensures they are lag-free, popular and well administered.

In addition to the server list we regularly use the Steam event system to send out notifications of events. Several times throughout the day we'll issue an event alert with a server's IP, by joining in on those games you get to join a server filled entirely with players -- you'll experience teamwork like you've never experienced before.
