GUIDE
While still developed with the modified Source engine used by Titanfall, the change to storing audio in .MBNK & .MSTR files from the typical .VPK files for Titanfall 2 & Apex Legends prevented existing tools such as the Titanfall VPK Tool from extracting the audio from the newer games.

Fortunately, there have since been further developments. One of them being an asset extraction tool called Legion[dtzxporter.com], developed by DTZxPorter (Developer of the Wraith[dtzxporter.com] game extraction tools) & id-daemon, along with it's successor Legion+[github.com] now maintained by the developers of R5Reloaded[r5reloaded.com], designed to extract assets including audio from Apex Legends & Titanfall 2, for which this guide will specifically focus on.

STEP ONE
Firstly, you will naturally need to own & install your chosen game (Apex Legends is Free-to-Play, so no charge nor additional user accounts required for installation).

Then simply head to the Legion+ GitHub[github.com] page and download the latest or your desired version of Legion+ from the Releases[github.com] section, either as a fully compiled .EXE or the Source Code package of your choice (All download links are found under 'Assets').

The original Legion[dtzxporter.com] tool still maintains MEGA.nz download links for both v2.43 (It's final version, released on 7th December 2021 & fully supporting the Apex Legends 'Season' of the time) & v2.13 (A "legacy version" specifically for Titanfall 2), with the website also providing basic information about the tool's usage, changelogs & more.
JUST BE WARNED: Both my Anti-Virus (AVG) & my Cloud Storage (MediaFire) have flagged and/or quarantined these original versions with a Virus Flag ("Win64:Malware-gen", according to the AVG File Shield) as of this year, so although I suspect that these are false positives, I would strongly advise not taking my word for it & using these legacy tools at your personal discretion (The Public Archive of the tool available on GitHub[github.com] should be able to help you investigate this for yourself).
While I would otherwise recommend primarily using Legion+ for various reasons, particularly for it's improvements specifically regarding audio extraction for both games (Which include changing the WAV format from the seemingly-unnecessary 32bit to the more-reasonable 16bit & possibly now supporting more language files than the original English as of v1.2.0), I thought it worth noting that the original tool remains available in case of issues.

STEP TWO
Once you have either:
  • Downloaded the .ZIP package for the complied Legion+
  • Downloaded & compiled the Source Code package of your choice for Legion+
  • Downloaded the .ZIP package for Legion
place the tool & their accompanying contents into a folder or location of your choice.

I would recommend doing so into a folder/location of it's own as when using the tool, it will create a .CFG (Configuration) file as well as an 'exported_files' folder where any files will be exported to.

STEP THREE
Once you run 'Legion+.exe' or 'Legion.exe' & load the tool, click 'Load File' to navigate to your game files location and find the necessary file to load the audio:
  • Titanfall 2:
    - [Your EA App Library Location] > Titanfall2 > r2 > sound > general.mbnk
    - [Your Steam Library Location] > Steam > steamapps > common > Titanfall2 > r2 > sound > general.mbnk
    - [Your Alternate Steam Library Location] > SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Titanfall2 > r2 > sound > general.mbnk
  • Apex Legends:
    - [Your EA App Library Location] > Apex > audio > ship > general.mbnk
    - [Your Steam Library Location] > Steam > steamapps > common > Apex > audio > ship > general.mbnk
    - [Your Alternate Steam Library Location] > SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Apex > audio > ship > general.mbnk

STEP FOUR
With all of the files loaded, you are free to highlight an individual file or a collection of files and click 'Export Selected', use 'Search' to find specific files of interest (Phrases such as 'Wpn', 'music' & 'diag' will narrow things down, or phrases such as 'diag_mcor', 'diag_imc', 'diag_gs', 'gibraltar', 'caustic', 'droz' or 'davis' are a few examples of how to narrow things down further) or simply click 'Export All' if you want to extract everything in one go. Legion+ also provides the option to Export files in the BinkA format under 'Settings > Audio Format', but most may find the WAV [16bit] desirable.

Just be warned that if you decide to 'Export All' files with Legion, this will take 73.1GB of storage to do so for Titanfall 2's 34402 files and a similar size for Apex Legends' files (65.9GB for 98693 files at one point in time), as not only are the files exported as WAV 32bit 44.1-48kHz, a variety of these can be up to six or even eight channels alongside the more common one (Mono) or two (Stereo) channel files, making them very big files (Possibly bigger than their genuine quality necessitates if their Spectrogram levels are any reliable indication).
This is something that has since been changed to WAV 16bit for Legion+, effectively halving the size of all files in comparison (With the 34402 files in Titanfall 2 now a total of 36.4GB when exported), with the BinkA format even smaller if you have the means to make use of it.

All exported files will go into the 'exported_files > sound' folder created in the same location as Legion+.exe or Legion.exe. If exporting files from both Titanfall 2 or Apex Legends, they export into the exact same 'exported_files > sound' folder, so if you are exporting a large number of files from both games in one sitting, bear that in mind in case you get any mixed up.

CONCLUSION
And that's all there is to it! I do recommend checking back on the Legion+ GitHub[github.com] page every so often in case of any new versions of the tool release, especially following any future updates to Apex Legends.

As for the first game Titanfall, I have a similar guide to extracting it's audio available at How to Acquire: The Audio of Titanfall as well as download links for my personal extraction that can be found in Sound Collection: Titanfall.
