and on the hacking question, though vulnerabilities can come up and be a wildcard.. in terms of hacking, the decentralization specifically is one of the reasons it's incredibly hard to attack in that manner. No central honeypot, to hack a large amount of funds they would have to hack each individual private key (impossible/near impossible through brute force currently, and still hard/time-consuming to do a single private key through social manipulation/scamming (though scams do happen)

exchanges/centralized custodian storage of bitcoin don't count, because anyone who is somewhat knowledgable about and concerned with the security would not be storing much on exchanges... and exchanges do not represent flaws with bitcoin, they represent the flaw of centralized server-client custodian trusted models (similar to banks/paypal/companies)
Finally someone that actually understands cryptocurrency.

Well, I'm no cryptography expert but I have spent a lot of time studying and keeping up with some of the innovations, so I know a lot about it on the surface layers / non-math technicals.. but yeah, I saw quite a few bitcoin questions on steam and as you say; they're all full of people who have absolutely zero knowledge about any of it.

I try to point them to andreas antonopoulos / jameson lopp etc, but I doubt they notice haha

(for anyone new to bitcoin/crypto, you will be doing yourself a massive favour by checking those two incredible resources)

andreas antonopoulos youtube channel

check his full talks in chronological order, and q&a specific videos about topics you find interesting from there

Jameson Lopps massive trove of various bitcoin resource links:
