A short bio
I'm Joseph. Born during the early '80s in a clinic that was knocked down and rebuild as a theatre, I was raised with Alfred Hitchcock's films, Mississippi Blues and classic european literature. Needless to say that music, books, and cinema are the kingpin of my life. I studied Philology and I currenty teach western literature to university students. I'm a film-noir enthusiast, a Jazz admirer/listener, and the kind of booklover who loves sniffing tomes of old books, haha!
On gaming
I've been a gamer for more that two decades and it if it weren't for game artists like Yoshitaka Amano, Nobuo Uematsu, Ken Levine, Shigeru Miyamoto, Thomas Grip, and Mikael Hedberg,
I would have been an incomplete being; I would have missed a substantial fragment of who I am and what I represent. Through literature, music, cinema, and gaming I learned how to admire and respect creativity.
Final words
There so much potential in this group, ColdzerO. I'm glad to be part of it and I look forward to all the wonderful uploads of my fellow members here.
Pleased to meet you all,
Joseph
I couldn't believe there are people like you on steam, but here you are!
I'm glad to see you here,in this group.
What can I say....Welcome!
ColdzerO has always come across to me as a genuine and great person to bump into on Steam. I didn't hesitate to join this group.
Active Users!! Thats what I like to see too. I like feeling as if I am surrounded by people who truely enjoy the culture and the art that it provides us while also realizing the potential within the Activity Feed and elsewhere. I've seen such amazing things by browsing the feed, I absolutely love it.
I live in the southern United States and was raised in the Bible Belt by a very conservative family. I was a rebellious little **** and as soon as I could drive I bailed. I lived around the southern states for a few years before going in the Marines as a grunt and was sent to the West Coast for a while. I visited plenty of countries and saw many amazing cultures. I toured OIF/OEF Iraq and was discharged honorably. I played around and got my degree in Anthropology but couldnt find work while traveling around the Pacific Northwest. I'm in the south again, taking care of my folks who are getting old fast, and I'm in school again. (Hells yea Post 9/11 G.I Bill) I have a year or so before I'm teaching history. I'm hoping to go back on base, as there are plenty of options overseas and lots of little grunts who need to go to school! I do enjoy kids and think it will be a complete blast to be back around my people while teaching.
I always enjoyed RPG's on the consoles as a kid, I guess they are called JRPGS now, but I may be mistaken. Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, Suikoden, etc. I got into PC gaming with Everquest and stuck with it on and off until 2006. Sick of annoying brats in mmos, I picked up EVE for a while, destroyed everything, and now I'm here. I am still exploring a lot of the great games that most folks consider old news. Tomb Raider 2013 and Shadow Warrior completely blew me out of the water. The camera in Mordor was mindblowing! I had never seen anything like it before. Needless to say its how I met most of you, so I'm thankful for that!
I think that the best conversations on Steam are about the great games, the future of the technology, and how much we love the culture! I'm not really trying to make a huge friends list but I am considerate of those who are friends with our gracious creator here.
Apologies for the length.
Cheers!
Greetings, Starwing6.
Of course. You may post your personal info and introduction here. Welcome to the group!
Thank you! I'm excited about this group :)
A little about me: I was born and raised in Canada and relocated to Finland (for marriage) eight years ago--but I'll never learn the language; I've given up trying. Unfortunately I have MS, and it does interfere with my gaming and online activities from time to time.
My favourite games of all time are XCOM: Enemy Unknown & Enemy Within and XCOM 2. I would play them all the time, if I could! For a little variety, I also enjoy several other turn-based tactical and strategy games, RPGs (preferably isometric, with party mechanics), city builders and a few random things.
I really love taking screenshots, but I try not to spam my friends with them too much. I don't think I do a very good job of that though...
You are very skilled at taking screenshots. Well done!
Sending a friend invitation your way!

Hi Vince :) It's great to meet you, and thank you very much for the Friend request. I also try to keep my list manageable so that I can enjoy personal contact with my Steam friends. If I have too many, I will forget who some of them are!
Thanks friend!
