Very sad news indeed, not been around much of late , but ive had some great times on ZG servers and meet some good friends a long the way. I wish you all the best and big thanks you for the hours of fun. Oh P.S you know what would be great is the config for [ZOMBIEGRILL 2] that would be lovey ;)

Indeed, Prome, you are right, that ZG is practically dead now. It used to be a big kick when everybody was bored with the standard L4D2 game, and lured a lot of gamers back to the game. By now, gamers are even bored with the ZG game.
However, it's not because Dead Island came out, it's because the creator behind ZG reached a point where he could not add more to the server, and therefore it started to lose interest. This is normal, everything has to reach its maximum sometime. Naturally, this is the point when a leader should let someone else continue his work. Someone, who still sees opportunities and has new ideas, and willing to invest them to make the server interesting again.
It happens with much bigger things too. A random example with names everyone knows: Microsoft's CEO, Bill Gates, decided that he reached the top with the company he founded. He could not bring the company noticably higher, and it was time to let someone else, namely Steve Ballmer lead the company instead.

Don't get me wrong, but what's the idea of running the ZG servers when there never are any people playing on them? That's been the scenario since Dead Island came out.

And why should Remo spend any time on upgrades/fixes for ZG when no-one ever uses them?

They will surely be missed however. It has been fun to play with many of you.

okay i know im late for the party here but i have to agree whit what every body is saying, i played this game for 70hours then i got sick of it then i startet playing on zombie grill now i have played for over 350hours and made lots of very good friends if the guys running it dont have time they shut hand it over to the folks there do have the time for it it would be such a petty to shut it down let it live on

When Left 4 Dead 2 was first released, I played it for a year, then got bored of it.
Then I found Zombiegrill. I played on ZG several more years, it gave the whole experience a new boost. And I cannot forget the numerous friendships I made there. I have 50+ Steam friends, and I met most of them on Zombiegrill. Later I went on the servers not intending to play, but to hang out with my buddies.

I understand, RS, that you lack the time to maintain the server, and since nowadays less and less people are visiting it, it might be a good time to shut it down forever.
But!
I'm not the only one who has such sweet experiences related to your work, and doesn't want to see Zombiegrill go. AND I'm not the only one who happens to own or rent some powerful server infrastructure.

RS, I'm asking you to offer the servers' admin rights over to someone who is willing to take them into their custody. If it requires the server binaries to move to a new home, there will be volunteers for that as well.

l4d2 went down hill fast.. now that this server is going. i cant see me playing l4d2 anymore :(

I vote handing the servers over to Nymphettamine aka Cherry Chopper along side the remaining admins like Sixau and Prome. Keep 'em running! xD

You need to sort out the bad players deliberately getting players kicked to take over the game and the players who delete the start button and who also delete other peoples constructions, it makes your servers unplayable

AFAIK bans are temporary at best, usually a few hours. (At least on ZG 4 and 5.) So don't worry about it.

I got kicked from Zombiegrill 8 for destroying someones forts, something I didn't even do. The person who accused me (aka the outright liar) was Elliotthedestroyer. Can I please be unbanned?
