This is a group created by active XCom: Enemy Unknown forum members that have been following the development of this reimaging by Firaxis. The people that created this group all were huge fans of the original, and want to develop a mature, fun community in which to find multiplayer opponents and discuss strategies for the single player campaign.

Firaxis appears to be working on a patch

Some community members have shown that Firaxis has been quietly working on something in the background, most likely a patch. Hopefully we will see it soon

XCOM: Enemy Within released in North America

And for those who haven't read the reviews, it does improve the game considerably, and the maps are much better.
