FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
General
Q: Who are you?
A: My name is Melissa, I`m 28 years old female gamer from Norway. XEALEEN is my nickname I use all over the internet. Perhaps that's all you need to know for now.

Q: Who is this ginger haired girl?
A: This is my XEALEEN itself, my original character. I use her as mascot for my creations. Her images and outfits may change, but her shining smile and sparkling eyes will always be where I am

Q: Why you do this?
A: I like to write articles that can be useful to people after a while. My main job IRL is partly related to this, but I won’t lie that I enjoy the attention and positive reactions of other people here on Steam.

Q: Are these photos from your Steam profile real?
A: They are. But I deliberately published a photo where there is no direct view of my face.

Q: I want to give you a donation or a gift. Any way I can do this?
A: No way. I do not accept any gifts, donations, money or any other valuables for a number of personal reasons. If you like my work, just write about it, give it a thumbs up, share with friends, tell or show it to someone, give it a Steam reward. It's much simpler, cheaper and will be enough for me.

Q: Any links to other social media?
A: No. I separate my real life with the one I lead here and I don’t want them to intersect or influence each other. I'm often online, you can write to me and usually I'm not averse to chatting. If you want to communicate with me, then do it only here.

Guide Creation
Q: Do you have people who help you create guides?
A: I do everything myself and alone. Because of this, the quality and speed of creating guides sometimes suffers, especially when I lead several at once. I suffer from perfectionism and can very often take on impossible tasks.

Almost all of my guides contain original text, layout, design, banners made by me personally, with the exception of official materials from the developers, fonts and videos. There are some guides that may contain copy-paste of other guides, but these are temporary exceptions that will be corrected over time.

Q: I noticed that some of your guides are started but never finished. What's the matter? Do you create them for the sake of hype and Steam reward scam?
A: I'm very selective about the games I want to make guides for. Sometimes it happens that games for which I want to make guides come out one after another within a very short period.

It turns out that in order to fill them out at the same time, you need to spend a lot of time on several games at once. Sometimes real life also distracts me from my creativity.

So it turns out that you have to return to some guides after a while and finish them later.

Q: Why do you even publish unfinished guides?
A: Sooner or later I will finish working on the guides completely. This awaits all my guides of which I am the author. If there is a crown symbol in the title of a guide, it means that it is officially finished and I no longer plan to make any changes other than cosmetic edits.

It is important for me to show the owners of the game that when I finish the guide, a detailed and useful guide with a good design will await them. Sometimes this does not happen quickly, but this does not change what is said above. My unfinished guide does not in any way interfere with gamers and authors of other guides, so I do not understand the negative reaction addressed to me, if any exists.

Q: The game has just been released, and you have already published an almost finished guide. How is this possible?
A: Situations are different. Sometimes developers themselves publish data on the Internet, sometimes it is leaked and unearthed by journalists. Among other things, I study demo versions of games and therefore, even before the game is released, I have almost all the information to create a guide. At the time of the game's release on Steam, all I have to do is publish the finished guide and fill it with information.

Q: I want to help you create a guide. Can I become a co-author?
A: I am happy to accept any help in the form of information, but I am very jealous of the issue of my authorship. It is important for me to be the sole author of my guides and that only I have access to their code and materials.

Q: All these banners, GIFs and other visual effects are cool, but sometimes they make the guide inconvenient to use, especially in overlay mode. Can anything be done about this?
A: I very often change the style of my guides, trying to find a middle ground between design and information content, trying not to use too much text, but also not to use only images, so that the necessary information can be easily found using keywords. That's why I have the names of achievements in my guides, and they themselves are divided into sections for easier navigation.

Q: There is one game that has not yet been released, but I would like you to write your own guide on it. What should I do?
A: Before creating a guide, I need to understand that a guide for this game will cost my time and effort. If the game is unpopular or simply not interesting to me, then I will not be able to make a good guide.

Nevertheless, write in a special discussion about the guide for which game you would like to see and if other community members support you, then I will not stand aside. It’s important for me to know that what I do is interesting to both me and you.

Q: Listen, how do you make these banners? How do you insert images so that they are displayed as done in your guides?
A: This is my little secret =)

Q: Where do you get animated avatars for your guides?
A: Each avatar is entirely created by me. There are exceptions in which I take a ready-made gif image, but over time I will replace them with my own.

Q: Do you use AI to create art in your guides?
A: Yes, in particular the image of my OC — XEALEEN was made by me in Stable Diffusion. Promt, LoRa and the model were selected by me personally, so I will not share them.

Fair use
Q: I want to translate your guide into my language. Can I do this?
A: Of course, just write to me about it. Not to get permission, but so that I would be aware of this. I will add you to the list of authorized partners here in the group.

I allow you to completely translate the text I wrote in the guide, but I do not provide banners and design of the guide - you do the entire visual part yourself without my participation. Also, you don’t need to make me a co-author of your guide, I don’t claim your independence.

Q: Can I refer to your guide in my own guide?
A: Sure, direct link is fine.
