Windows 11 taskbar problems
as per the title, setting a resolution for a window on my ultrawide will still interact with the taskbar when its in auto hide. This causes a single pixel overlap that pops up the taskbar whenever the mouse goes to low.

One fix for this would be to use translucentTB, however it is currently broken with new versions of windows 11. Another option, and one that I'm currently relying on, is to set it to 2560x1439 rather than 2560x1440. This works fine and there's no real problems I've seen with the odd aspect ratio however it is a bit hacky.

One other solution is to move the position of the taskbar, however the option has disappeared in windows 11 and, again, on newer versions of windows the reg-edit method is gone.

Just wondering if there's another way people have gotten around this issue or if I'm just stupid of something.

I don't use Win11 yet but historically MS.Windows treats borderless windows that use anything other than the exact size of the monitor as windowed applications, while if they're the exact measurement it treats it as if fullscreen, and gives less priority to rendering things in the background that cant be seen rendering things that are behind it, making it run much smoother.
It is odd that mismatching your resolution works for you.
Sorry, reading your reply I realized that I didn't explain my setup at all. My ultrawide is a 5120x1440 display, which I assume is the reason for the taskbar interaction and would explain why the mismatched resolution works.

On the other hand I seem to have found a working solution:

The application, which surprisingly works on windows 11, adds a hotkey that disables the the taskbar from popping up. I assume it removes the single pixel that the hidden taskbar occupies but I am no software engineer nor do I understand the program itself.

Look up Explorer Patcher. Change your "task bar" to windows 10 and then throw it to one of the sides of the screen. Then get Windows Power Toys, Fancy zone your monitor to sections. Then you can game with ease, no taskbar over your game :). Enjoy
5120x1440 user here also. 2560x1440 game perfect in the center. Other stuff on the sides.

How does one essentially change their task bar to windows 10?
