Request to Revive and Expand Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Dear Red Storm Entertainment,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of a passionate and growing community of players who love Star Trek: Bridge Crew and are eager to see it thrive once more.

This game has captivated many of us with its unique gameplay, immersive experience, and the opportunity to connect with others who share our enthusiasm for the Star Trek universe. Recently, I’ve been playing the game again and have been reminded of just how incredible it is. In just the past few days, I’ve met many players who feel the same way, and we’ve spent hours discussing how much we’d love to see Bridge Crew come back to life with renewed support.

Our community is growing, with both long-time players returning and new players discovering the game for the first time. There’s a significant amount of activity in Steam discussions and other forums where players are brainstorming ways to help this game stay alive. The overwhelming sentiment is that Star Trek: Bridge Crew still has immense potential, and we’re all eager to see it thrive with bug fixes, updates, and new content.

In addition to requests for bug fixes and updates, many of us are excited about the idea of expanding Bridge Crew with new gameplay modes, especially something like an open-world MMO mode with PvP and PvE elements. Here’s how we envision it:

Open-World Mode: Players could explore the universe, form factions, and engage in both cooperative and competitive gameplay.

Guilds and Crews: Players could form guilds with unlimited membership, while each ship can accommodate up to five players as crew members. Guilds with more members could have multiple ships in the same server—for example, a guild with 10 members could operate two ships. Guilds would feature a leveling system that unlocks unique benefits and upgrades as they progress.

Customization and Progression: Players could access in-game purchases for clothing, ship decals, and skins, allowing them to showcase their guild’s style and achievements. Guild leaders could further customize their ships both inside and out, creating unique designs using shape-based tools similar to Black Ops 2 player profiles or Forza Horizon car customization. This would allow players to craft intricate designs for their ships, from hull artwork to detailed guild emblems or flags.

Ship Identity: Players could rename their ships (e.g., USS Something) to give them a personal touch. Guild flags and emblems would be visible to other players, fostering a sense of identity and pride for each guild.

Resource Management: Players could mine resources, beam down to planets for materials, and use those resources to upgrade their ships and gear.

AI NPCs: The open world could include NPCs that are either hostile or peaceful, adding depth and variety to exploration.

Communication: Players could communicate with other captains within sensor range, either negotiating, making demands, or engaging in battle.

Faction Control: The map could include sectors controlled by factions, where neutral zones or contested areas create dynamic gameplay. These zones could either be static or captured over time, similar to mechanics in Planetside 2.

Community Input: Features and content could be guided by community votes, allowing players to have a direct impact on the game’s future.

We believe these additions would breathe new life into the game, attract new players, and re-engage those who may have moved on. Many players have expressed that all they want is more content and regular bug fixes to keep the game alive and enjoyable.

We understand that development resources and priorities can shift, but the love for this game remains strong. We’re reaching out to ask: What can we do as a community to help revive and grow Star Trek: Bridge Crew? Are there specific ways we can show our support or provide feedback to encourage updates and new content? Would you be open to engaging with the community, perhaps through surveys, forums, or other channels, to explore ideas and opportunities for the game’s future?

This game is truly one-of-a-kind, and we believe it deserves another chance to flourish. We’d love to hear from you on how we, as a passionate player base, can help support and sustain it.

Thank you for creating such an incredible game, and we hope you’ll consider our heartfelt request. We’re eager to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can work together to ensure Star Trek: Bridge Crew continues to engage and inspire players for years to come.

Live long and prosper,
On behalf of the Star Trek: Bridge Crew community
