Darkness shrouds the road you and the other refugees have been driving on for hours. The cold fog and rain chill your bones as you speed down the empty road. Trees surround you as you speed by, while you look into the forest you can see silhouettes of men, but you convince yourself that it’s only your mind playing games on you. There is a burly man sitting at the end of the truck smoking a cigarette which illuminates the truck ever so slightly. An M16 rifle tucked between his legs, he’s dressed in a woodland camouflage garb. You can assume he is part of the National Guard, as the words are placard everywhere on his clothing. At the front of the truck bed next to the cab is a slim soldier cradling an m14 rifle in his arms; he shakes in the cold air. In the cab two unidentifiable soldiers are driving, the radio is on static and they tune it occasionally. The other refugees sitting around you are shivering, some are families huddled in a group, while others are huddled up alone in solitude.

A loud screech is heard as the truck in front of yours tumbles over the road smashing into a small car as it spins to the side. Your truck swerves to the left, smashing into a fence. The collision sends people flying off the truck, hitting the hard concrete. The burly soldier hangs off the end of the truck unconscious. A small woman lies on the road dead covered in blood with others dead around the truck. The corpses of the infected spew across the road, lying motionless dried blood caked on the truck bed.

The driver of the small car smashes through his window hanging halfway out dead, the forest sings as the wind flows past the trees, the shadows you’ve seen before are closer now. They are coming through the trees mocking you as you lay on the ground soaking in unfamiliar blood. The burly man rises, holding his M16 in his hand, he yells loudly in a hoarse voice. “We need to get the ♥♥♥♥ out of the streets, get the ♥♥♥♥ up!” The other refugees arise slowly, shambling towards him with various wounds, the slim man stands beside him. The refugees look upon him as he wipes the blood from his forehead.
