Sorry I am a little behind on updates. But the October update of 2.1 is here with some more tweeking and a new CTF map added called Perdition which is inspired by a Tribes 2 legacy map Damnation. This is the last PST before they make a public test server.

The key focus of this update is small changes to the current game. Things like increasing the damage each armour type deals. It still stops one shot kills to a degree, but should hopefully bring them back into their roles a bit more. Direct hit damage is also back, increasing the usefulness of Impact, Timed and Plasma weapons again.

Hitscan weapons had their flight time halfed, in order to lower their flight distance of 21000 units to 10500 units. Hopefully bringing them more in line and still keeping their valid use. Medium health has been set to 1500. All medium and heavy armours have had their mass, air control, and ski control rolled back.

There's a lot more tweeks and changes. Including the Tribes:Ascend Beta laser targeter. Which they have left in it's beta state, but will work on if it's liked. I'd have a look at the patch notes and see what you think of this patch for yourself and load up the PTS client if you want. It's worth a look for those that enjoyed the Tribes game.
