203mm/50 Modèle 1921 gun
A heavy land artillery piece designed for utilized in fixed mountings, the 203mm/50 Modèle 1921 gun is an important artillery piece for the Republic's defenses. Built in response to the lack of heavy artillery during the Great War, the 203mm gun was designed for a single usage, to be mounted in the various heavy artillery emplacements of the Ligne Vauban to help in the defense of the Nation against assaults from the East.
The gun has a caliber of 203mm, and is 50 calibers long for a barrel length of 10,150mm. It has a muzzle velocity of 850 meters per second, and fires a high explosive shell up to 32 kilometers. This shell is 125 kilograms, more than enough to cause massive amounts of damage to enemy emplacements. A fire rate of 5 rounds per minute can ensure that this level of destruction can be repeated quite rapidly, decimating enemy troop formations.
The only practical mountings for the gun on land are rail carriages. There are considerations to utilize the gun as the main armament on upcoming destroyers of the Republic's navy, however for now it serves only in fixed mountings along the Ligne Vauban.
