Sure, that'd be sweet.

Anyhow, until you can make your own map, there's a few out there that I know have strider nodes that would work quite well.

Ooh...thats a big mapping challenge. I'll have to wait until I have finished my current project though.

Incidentally, I have found how to apply flags to NPCs. Like in Half-Life 2, I can make Combine Shield Scanners take photos of their targets and tell the Striders their location. Pretty neat, eh?

There's also a few maps out already like this one http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=104362 which are nice battlefields AND have strider nodes already.

Another thought I had... is to make the striders more menacing. Enabling their main cannon is one thing, but I was considering getting the shield tool and creating some kind of E2 applyForce chip to give striders shields.

But there would be a hackable terminal or destructable control node which would disable the shields if the resistance can find it and destroy it. Probably either placing the E2 on an explosive barrel or using an entity marker.

Some kind of destroyed city will work. Bombed-out buildings, streets wide enough for contraptions like tanks and vehicles, and several resistance bases hidden in the buildings.

There should be a strider base of some sort inside a big crater/smashed area inside the base, with everything around it leveled. The rest of the city should be in various states of decay/damage, with plenty of enterable buildings.

The main resistance base should have a garage or open area for building/spawning tanks and vehicles too.

I can do that myself. I don't need tools to control a Strider. All I need is the console. :P I have binded keys to change a striders relationship, make it walk, crouch, stand, shoot pulse turret, and fire its cannon.

Good idea though. Now for the map...I will have to design and create it myself.

Tell me what features you want in this map, apart from Strider nodes. :)

⑨s, I've got an idea.

Instead of Zombie Survival, how about we go one up with STRIDER SURVIVAL!

All we'd need is a map with strider nodes (like rp_salvation2 or plain ol' construct), NPC manipulation tools (there's tons of these), some extra SWEPS, and probably darkRP or something similar with custom jobs.

One player/admin would be the Gamemaster, who would have noclip, be invisible and invincible, but wouldn't be able to harm the players directly. They'd spawn and control the striders with the NPC tools, give the rest of the players objectives, place weapons/supplies around the map, etc.

The Rest of the players would be the resistance/army/whatever, and would be armed with SWEPs and whatever vehicles/contraptions they can build, and would fight the striders. They'd have a chain of command (different military themed jobs using darkRP like "field medic" or "armory officer" instead of 'medic' and 'gundealer')

TRFS is generally boring but maybe like an RP or spacebuild would make it fun
