The Year of Our Lord, Anno Domini 868

The lands of Britannia are in turmoil, the scars left behind from the fall of the Roman Empire is all but too obvious, yet it will be a couple centuries until the golden age of knights, chivalry, and great stone castles. Instead, the land is made up of mostly vast wilderness, with villages and small wooden forts scattered about, and occasionally a town, little more than a large, fortified, village. This is the Dark Ages..

Britannia is made up of a variety of small kingdoms, the strong Saxon kingdom of Wessex, the declining Angle kingdoms of Mercia and East Anglia, leaving the native Britons pushed back to the western fringes of Dumonia, Alt Clut, and Wales.

All while this is going on, the Danes watch over Britannia with envy, like a vulture flying over the dead. The Danes have already captured Northumbria, deposing the puppet king it installed. Now Mercia and East Anglia are weak, with Wessex being the only true threat to the Danes.

This is an age where survival is most important, above all else. The timid die first, and the bold die soon after. People pray every night hoping to see another sunset, leaving very few people to live above the age of 50.

This will be roleplayed on Drunk's Viking Conquest Roleplay, for the Viking Conquest dlc. Perhaps, the largest battles could be played on Age of Charlemagne for Attila Total War.

Due to time difference, this roleplay will mostly be played on the weekend.
