The story of the Echo: Route 65 visual novel is centered in the year 2008 on the protagonist, Chase, a teenager in the rural southwest whose parents just found out he was gay in a less-than-dignified way. After getting off the bus from school, he flees facing his new reality as an outed individual and goes a nighttime adventure along a stretch of road called Route 65.
