Prospective Boardgame Setting Discussion: ♥♥♥♥ creative names edition!
I intended to be very involved in player character creation and I don't expect to be playing to just kill them. It's more important to encourage the story of the players and my setting to go full circle rather than just run a gauntlet. For one or two settings I will say that I'd be throwing a lot more combat to try to scare you, but I am more interested in what may appeal to you because I've put a solid amount of work into each and just need a little more before I am ready.

Innawoods: my first project. set in modern day, the players go out to Washington with a friend who long since moved away. This camping trip a reunion of sorts. You watch the stars the last night and then when you get back to town the next day you hear some shit went down on the east coast. Ya'll gotta make your way back home in the east coast or nope the fuck out to wherever. The longer you travel or fcuk around the heavier shit gets in terms of survival and/or combat.

(1920's-1930's game): My second project, which was never properly named. I wrote a lot of lore based on real history, but the main point is that Wilson's fourteen points somehow got pushed such that tensions did not flare up and the nations of Europe spectacularly did not suffer post-war. I'll have to find these notes, of course. The big monopolies, political corruption, conspiracy, prohibition(maybe not), and racism will be your obstacles as your group tries to uncover the mysterious kidnappings of children from the town's slums.

Nautical Punk: A simple game with mainly setting work and little direction. The world is something like Water World, Flapjack, Windwaker, and One Piece in that it's just a whole lot of tropics and water. You'd play, or rather you'd find yourself part of, aboard a small 3-6 man ship that sails around as whatever you like. Love ship, whatever. Pirates, lolokay. Scouting vessal for a larger ship, good. Trying to find an inhabitable island, great. Treasure hunters, fantastic. Point is that money is good and the land is full of unholy horrors. This game's name is from a lack of this setting's proper name. There is no proper name for a ocean/boat themed world like steampunk and biopunk. The closest I found, thanks to Helios or rarara, was whale punk from Dishonored.
I am about done with the framework of a game for the group but I am flopping around on a setting currently. I am open to personal ideas but I've already put work into two games based on wuna's forum rp, another innawoods that is basically Rust with starter clothes, one set in a "nautical punk" theme, and a fifth in an alternate timeline 1920's with a minor dip into lovecraft. What do you feel would be fun and what tips would you give me for my first time trying to promote rp in my game?

((Only the forum games are with ponies. Nautical punk, however, can be adapted for horses.))

(Unnamed Forum Game1): Based heavily around some events in the forum rp, it'll play out with the players as Empire navy/soldiers for the first few sessions, which should then give them some push to find out what happened and fix whatever may be wrong. From there you are free to play what you like as you follow your objective or try to clear your names or w/e.

(Unnamed Forum Game2): Hardly related to wuna's setting, but I at least consider it part of it at least for the sake of having a prewritten world. Anyway, ya'll are either citizens or Empire agents or travellers or whatever who get caught up in a whirlwind of conspiracy as the city's large devil's blood refinement facilities up and explode. Shit gets worse from there as being near an exploded anything that refines stuff is never fun. Find out what happened and fix the problem. The end.

The unnamed 1920's setting will be the game. I will make a full lore post outside of this discussion after a name is decided and I have finished learning/giving up on WoD. Game notes and responses will continue in discussion.
