Hey everyone! This has been made known everwhere but here; if you felt left out you only have yourself to blame because this was announced via the subreddit and TeamSpeak. The TS server reach the end of its lifespan and was shutdown recently. Prior to that happening we moved to Discord. You can join our Discord server using code "b7Fa3EK" without quotes. Good evening everyone!

Approximately 48 hours from this post we will begin preparations for the Planetside 2 recording weekend. For those that were not aware this will be a three night event occurring this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and here are all of the details!


1) Thursday: Setup help for OBS and various other recording software. I put it a bit later so that anyone who is Pacific Time and wants or needs help will have the opportunity to get it.
2) Friday: Will be fairly standard ops, starting at roughly 8PM Eastern Time and record for two hours or as long as we can manage.
3) Saturday: Our early start night to be at least more inclusive of our European players; these will be more serious than our regular ops and, with the timing, should be the longest of the three nights.
4) Sunday: Big time serious ops night; everyone is welcome but familiarizing yourself with the TACT manual is highly encouraged.

Why.

The goal is to make a big time recruitment video for the Planetside 2 outfit to release sometime early next year; plus, if the outfit membership increases there is the potential for spill over into other games.

Incentive Program

We have several people who will be providing games, game packs and other things even I am not aware of yet. There are two ways to get rewards.

During the event: There will be one or more items given away each night during play at random; you must be on TeamSpeak, tracking you down in-game is difficult at best.
By uploading: TEST members who make their recording(s) available for download by January 9, 2016, will be entered to win the bigger items; we have not decided on what that might be exactly, it could be a big title, but the only way to find out is to record and upload by January 9.

What to record

Anything and everything; however, per the request of our editor it should be without anything extra. This means no logos, no special text, nothing; as clean and bare a video as you can make. Extra points for going without your HUD.

Anyone who has the aforementioned rewards is welcome to post them in the comments below but are not required to do so.

PS: I realize there is a big movie coming out on Friday; I am proactively initiating a moratorium on discussing the contents of that movie in effect now. TL;DR: No freaking spoilers!

I've decided to set up a Hexxit server, since it looks like a cool modpack and we haven't had a Minecraft server up for a while. It's hosted on the same box as the Teamspeak server.
