Saints Row IV/Metal Gear Rising SweetFX Issues
Hello. I've been trying to get Saints Row IV and Metal Gear Rising to work with SweetFX, without much success. I've had it work with the Mass Effect games, Skyrim, and Borderlands 2, but not with SR4 or MGR. I'm using the SweetFX 1.5.1 Configurator on Windows 8.1.

Both have given their own sort of error. Metal Gear Rising has the game immediately quit after starting, with the error log giving this:

full path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE\
redirecting CreateDevice
initialising shader environment
D3DXCreateEffectFromFile failed
try to use "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE\GameData" for shader files

Saints Row 4 meanwhile gives me this error popup trying to start, without the error log updating:

The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? :)

Hmm I used to get this error.. but I forgot the fix, Try updating DirectX via websetup, try updating the C++ redists.

Had a look at both. Seems that my DirectX is updated to DirectX 11 and my Visual C++ is at the 2012 Update 4 versions, x86 and x64. I don't think either are the problem here...

I heard there is a glitch with DX11.2 on 8.1 that causes this error to appear. but yeah i can't remember what the fix was.. you could just use reshade

I gave a look at RadeonPro. It got SR4 to work with SweetFX to work, though I was disappointed and struggled with getting a good setup for it. Also works for Metal Gear Rising after disabling the Screenshot and Benchmarking sets. The only issue seems to be that MGR (and I think SR4) fails to register any sort of AA with RadeonPro, unlike the SweetFX configurator.

I'll mess around with MGR's settings to see what I get, and I'll probably work off a preset for SR4. Thanks for responding to this thread :)

Thank you for the link! I may see if that works however this may be more associated with Windows 8.1 not dealing well with SweetFX. RadeonPro works well for MGR and SR4 now so I will probably stick with that until 2.0 and ReShade gets a few more updates. Thank you for the help however :)
