In other words, a filter of 'compatible' or whatever. Sure we can filter out specific criteria, but we're too lazy/dumb for that, speaking for myself anyway.
However, I agree that listing a game's requirements along with your system's specifications should be doable – not sure if extra data collection would be needed though it's clear that extra usage would result (thinking mainly of the GDPR here), but it would seem to be that which is collected for the hardware surveys.
My favorite genres are RPG and 4X strategy, yet the latter is missing entirely and the only RPGs on the recommendations list are RPG-lite stuff such as Path of Exile and Fallout Shelter. Whereas games that I know I'd like, such as Tales of Vesperia, Disgaea 5, Trails of Cold Steel, etc are all missing.
What it recommends instead are massively multiplayer and shooters, mingled with adventure games. I don't mind the latter, but I hate the first two genres, so no idea why it keeps throwing those at me.
I deleted most of my ignored list a while back, and marked the games I played on other platforms as played. But that didn't seem to make much of a difference.
So the results definitely still need tuning.
I don't need this and don't want it, and, do not like being forced into it because I use Steam.
Enough big brother! Can I please just be left to make my own choices? Be left alone? Please give me and anyone else who wants to opt out that option. I know you'll track anyway, no one cares if we have a "Do not track" internet list and let websites know we don't want to be tracked. But can you please get rid of some whatever it is, artificial intelligence or not, that I do not want in my life? Force it on your dog. Force it on your mom. Force it somewhere else, but please, I am a customer and just want to be left in peace to look and buy at my own pace, leisure, and desire. I do not need this intrusive "recommender." Those who want it, enjoy. But don't force those who don't want it to have to have it. Please an opt-out. Let CCP/Tencent Epic pull this kind of garbage on their customers. Not Steam on us.
Yes, but you're not cool kids and you struggle to get even the basic UI working properly. As such, let us turn the damned thing off. I have a "Queue", I don't need more than a queue.
Let those who want it have it and let those who don't, turn it off. Stop thinking all users are lowest-common-denominator and we should all have everything. I mean, how ironic that you want people to choose their games, yet you FORCE them to have options YOU choose... hypocritical don't you think?
