Steam Soundtracks available on Smartphones
I think that Valve would make something really useful making sountracks available on Smartphones. If I'm in front of my PC normally I play games and (most of the time) I need the volume of the game to play better (maybe playing a FPS or something like that).
But if I had the possibility to take my smartphone and listen to soundtracks anywhere (like some relaxing one for sleeping or an energic one for the Gym), it would be even more useful to get soundtracks.
Am I the only one that think like this?

A feature to look out for. But I think the Valve needs to implement somesort of Itunes platform within steam eco system and I am not sure if they are down for it. Specialy on mobile, since we are PC Gamers first here on steam.

is it possible to lisent to music on steam? like a stand alone section somewhere on the site or Client?

Yes, there is a section of the Library dedicated to listening to Soundtracks. It's been part of Steam for quite a long time now, but I don't think too many people actually use it. Sort of a legacy feature when Valve was experimenting with Steam being a multimedia platform and not just a game platform. You can find the option by selecting the drop down at the top of the Library pane, just above the list of games, and select the checkbox next to 'Soundtracks'.
This only works if the developers have properly set up a Soundtracks folder for the game now, but back in the day it would display ANY unencrypted audio files present in a game's folder, from sound effects to environmental ambience, so it was kind of a mess. It's ok now, but like I said I think very few people actually go out of their way to listen to their game soundtracks through Steam vs something like Youtube or Spotify, unless they're a real audiophile and only listen to music in FLAC or WAV format, but idk if the soundtracks provided on Steam typically even have that level of fidelity.
All in all, unless Steam enforced higher quality versions of soundtracks and a substantially robust environment allowing you to listen to them with greater ease than the competitors, I don't see it being worth the effort of doing more than just maintaining as a way to allow players to contribute a little extra money to the composers of a game's music.
