New To Steam Guide
I had an idea in mind about creating guide to assist new users. Would creating this be worthwhile, and secondly, would anyone here be interest in perhaps helping out?
Thanks :steamhappy:

What kind of content do you think you'll include?

To what extent will this avoid being a duplicate of existing guides?

There are a lot of great Steam guides. You could perhaps combine them into a mega-guide, linking to the other guides, not actually pasting the entire contents of the other guides into one. You would have to do some research though, make it comprehensive.

Thanks for the quick responses! I definitely agree with both of you, as I don't want to duplicate existing content that's out there. Inevitably, some of the contents of the guide have already been covered, so rather that duplicating existing content, I was thinking of providing a brief explanation, followed up by providing a link to another existing guide/ relevant content.
Some of the topics I'm thinking that need to be covered are, account security and scams (I believe these are important for new users), the Store (wishlist, refunds, dates of sales), Community (posting, workshop, artwork, guides). These of course are very basic, and if I do create this guide, hopefully there will be more content.

[off-topic] Good to see with new UI Beta updates Steam still limits the amount of guides (therefore presumably also video's and Store pages) to alleviate the stress of loading such a big listing on slow/outdated machines.

I see what you mean Bumbefly, and that's something that I want to do, include some other guides in there for a more detailed explanation of a topic.
