Selectable GPU for encoding
Lots of people have more than one GPU in their system, such as an iGPU plus a discrete card. It would be really cool if there was a way to divert recording duties to the iGPU.

In my case I actually have two discrete GPUs but one is just three transistors in a trenchcoat called Intel Arc A310. It's basically only good for video encoding, but it's really good at that one thing. It'll dual-stream 200 FPS 1080p HEVC with quality superior to x265's "fast" preset and it does it using only ~30 watts. And if you don't mind losing some compression efficiency it'll go way faster than that.

Anyway, it'd be super nice if I could record with my Intel """""GPU""""" while gaming on my Nvidia GPU.

You can try forcing Steam or whatever recording program you decide to use to only use the GPU intended for encoding, by going to Windows Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics, and then search for or add the recording app, and under GPU preference choose your encoding GPU.

It still may not work 100% of the times, for example I use 5090+3080Ti, however Steam's recording currently cannot use the 50 series encoder for some reason, so despite that I force the Steam app to use the 5090, it would still default to 3080Ti, and if I disable 3080Ti completely, or remove Steam's access through Nvidia Control Panel, then Steam just errors out.
