No audio on (Original) Steam Link Device
No audio on (Original) Steam Link Device with this beta update this morning (October 16 2025). Audio and everythingelse was fine yesterday. Steam client beta updated this morning and sound was gone. Opted out of beta and sound is back. I am talking about the original hardware Steam Link just to be clear. little black box.

Same here after recent update on steam beta no audio on iPad through steam link, despite steam link app have beep sound on connect and Steam Stream Speaker is set as audio output and according to Windows audio settings it actually play sound but no sound on iPad, all was just fine last night (switching to mainstream steam branch from beta fixes issue)

Same here although swapping back doesn't appear to have resolved the issue for me.
I can go back and forth (beta or not) and replicate no sound on beta , sound on standard when streaming to Steam Link. Checked it again this morning..confirmed.

hmm I can't think what else it would be on mine unless its unrelated. I just uninstalled steam (along with my whole game library by accident!!) and reinstall still has issue. Was working fine last week.

"play audio on host" is off but it keeps coming out the host pc and not my TV.

Same here :hootle:
No audio on steam beta for me. "Play audio on host" is selected and I have tried changing outputs for specific programs via Win11 sound settings. Going back to the non-beta seems to fix it for me as long as the audio on my main pc defaults to Streaming Speakers. I was pulling my hair out earlier trying to chase down the audio issues.

HOW TO FIX NO SOUND ISSUE

Turn of "Low Latency Networking" in Steam Settings > Remote Play

Even with the Steam non beta client and "Low Latency Networking" turned ON the audio was broken with crackling sounds. There is a slightly delay in sound with LLN turned of though.
I hope slouken can fix this issue.

Win10, latest steam beta client, Connection via Wifi 5ghz channel 100

Still a no-go. Steam beta audio is completely broken for me, no matter the settings.

No audio, hosting both from Windows 11 25H2 and Windows 11 Canary. Rolled back to non-Beta Steam Client and the audio came back.
Same, current beta has no audio being streamed. Same with original link hardware and over android app.
Public build works fine. Current beta doesn't stream audio at all no matter what settings combinations I try. Doesn't work with mobile app or with link hardware, either.
