"log in to see friends activity"
when i open steam it shows everything just fine, after a while of running it appears for others that i'm offline even tho i'm not and i can't see my friends activity in games tab. Did anyone else had similar or the same problem? if yes then how do i fix it

Yeah, "Sign in to see Friends Activity" does not work for me on any game's library page.
Stable Client, not tested in Beta Client.
I am almost always Offline, and have Friends & Chat set to login in Invisible mode if I do login.
If I do login, Friend Activity disappears altogether on the Library page- I seem to have no way to see which friends own the game or have played the game or Demo except from the Store page, which is less convenient to me (for how I use the client), unless the game has Steam Achievements (comparison view).

Go to steam settings, friends and chat, enable "Sign in to friends when Steam Client starts".

it worked for me when i placed my steam profile to online-away-invisible
