Bug: "Listen" Feature in Controller Settings is Broken
ISSUE
The "Listen" feature in the Controller Settings app is broken.

OS
Windows 11

STEPS
  • Open Controller Settings for a game in your Steam Library
  • Click on "View Layout"
  • Select a controller binding and hit the "Listen" key (your controller's "Start" button by default)
RESULTS
A blurry dark screen appears, with hard-to-read text near the top; I think the text says something like "Something went wrong...". The blurry screen can not be removed no matter what button or keyboard key you press. To remove the screen and restore function to Controller Settings you must either exit the game you're playing, or if you opened Controller Settings out of game, shut down the Controller Settings window.

EXPECTED
The "Listen" function should normally pop up a box asking you to hit a controller button or keyboard key to assign your binding.

NOTES
  • This bug has been in place for a couple of weeks now
  • I've also encountered this bug on my old Windows 10 PC, so I know it's not an issue with a specific computer
  • I experience this bug in both desktop and Big Picture Mode
  • I have only tested this in the Steam Beta Client; I have not tried to test this out on the stable Steam client (EDIT: I have now tested, and this bug DOES NOT appear in the stable Steam client)
