Steam Client still running
The Steam client does not recognise when the game has stopped therefore I am having to keep stopping the client when i have finished a game.

That isnt a bug?? unless you're doing a different mthod.
When the game is exited Steam doesnt close/
How do you exit the game?

Just have to press stop but I am frightened I lose some of my play.
