8-Bitdo Ultimate 2 showing incorrect glyphs in certain Steam Input titles
I'm not sure if this is a new issue or something that has popped up in more recent updates, now that 8-Bitdo support is on it's way, it seems like certain titles with older Steam Input implementations aren't able to properly identify the controller and instead show Switch layout even when it doesn't physically match the controller. I personally have both a Ultimate 2c and a standard Ultimate 2, both the standard version using the Xbox ABXY layout to test with.

The games I have personally tested and found the issue to exist in are

Team Fortress 2
Half-Life 2
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+
Portal (U2 exhibits issue, 2c did not)

The following are SI titles that I had the ability to test and did not seem to have a problem

Entopy: Zero 2
Black Masa
Red Faction Guerrilla Remarstered
Portal: Revolution

I understand a lot of this likely has to do with implementation of the software, but given that in most scenarios the glyphs developer has created for Xbox controllers would likely be a perfect analog for these specific 8-Bitdo game pads, I was wondering if there was anything that could be done on the back end without requiring developer intervention. If history is any indication, very few games actually get any changes pertaining to their SI support and although a simple issue it is also confusing and annoying to the general public that just so happens to buy an 8-Bitdo controller.

Notable software revisions, in case relevant

8-Bitdo Ultimate 2 Ver 1.6
8-Bitdo Ultimate 2c Ver 1.9

I've tested on both stable and beta of Steam OS on Steam Deck, specifically
Bulk of testing was done on

OS Version 3.7.15
OS Build 20250903.1

Steam Version 1757117424
