macOS Desktop widgets remain visible in Steam Big Picture mode
ISSUE
When using Steam Big Picture mode, any widgets you have on your desktop in macOS will remain visible in the background.

OS
macOS Sequoia Version 15.6 (24G84) — latest as of writing

STEAM BUILD
Steam macOS Beta (running on Apple Silicon) 1753403107 — latest as of writing

STEPS
- Add widgets to Mac desktop (open Notification Centre on right and select edit widgets). Make sure these widgets are along the edge of the screen
- Open Steam
- Launch Steam Big Picture

RESULTS
The background behind Big Picture will turn black but the widgets on the desktop will remain visible.

EXPECTED
The background should be uniformly black, without visible widgets.

I've been experiencing the same issue where the Steam Big Picture mode window doesn't fully expand to the display size (excluding the notch ofc). You can somewhat work around this by switching to windowed mode, manually resizing the window to fill the screen, and then going back to fullscreen, but it still doesn't utilise the full screen like before.

It turns out the problem is caused by the Steam ARM beta update. Disabling the Steam beta and reverting to the non-ARM (Intel) version fixes the issue and restores proper fullscreen behaviour but I do want to keep the ARM version tho.

macOS Sonoma 15.0
The bug is fixed in the latest steam beta
