[Linux Mint] Steam Client Beta – context submenus non-functional, only Big Picture works
ISSUE
Context submenus in the Steam Client (Linux) do not respond to mouse clicks. Clicking a submenu item (e.g. Manage → Uninstall) instead passes the click through to the window underneath, activating that element rather than the intended menu item. This affects all right-click context submenus across the client (Library, Store, Community), making it impossible to uninstall a game or use other submenu actions in desktop mode.

OS
Linux Mint (GNOME desktop)
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti (proprietary drivers)

STEAM CLIENT
Steam Client Beta (latest build, persistent across multiple months)

STEPS

Launch Steam (desktop mode).

Navigate to Library.

Right-click on a game.

Hover over Manage to open the submenu.

Attempt to click Uninstall.

RESULTS
The submenu is displayed but ignores the mouse click. The click is passed through to whatever UI element is underneath the menu (e.g. another button). No submenu actions can be selected.

EXPECTED
The selected submenu item (e.g. Uninstall) should respond to the click and carry out the intended action.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Affected: all context submenus (Library, Store, Community).

Not affected: top toolbar dropdown menus (e.g. Steam, View, Friends).

Workarounds:

Big Picture Mode allows submenu actions (e.g. uninstalling games).

Keyboard navigation (arrow keys + Enter) sometimes works.

The issue is persistent (100% reproducible) across multiple sessions and system reboots.
