Cannot add non-Steam game through "Browse.." menu
ISSUE
Adding a non-Steam game through the "Browse.." menu - i.e. when you're navigating through the Windows file explorer rather than through the list of programs Steam shows initially upon clicking "Add a Non-Steam Game" - does not work. It does not appear in the list of programs, or in the library after selecting any executable.

OS
Windows 11 Pro Build 22621.1555

STEPS
Click "Add a Game"
Click "Add a Non-Steam Game..."
Click "Browse.."
Navigate to any executable file; even one that is listed in the initial Steam modal that pops up.
Click the executable file, then click "Open"

RESULTS
The "Browse" window closes, and the initial list of non-Steam games remains unchanged.

EXPECTED
The executable file I selected in the "Browse" menu appears in the list of non-Steam games, and is checked. When I then click "Add selected programs", the selected executable appears in my library and can be launched through Steam.

Having the same issue. Fixed it buy using the old interface

Same, after trying with the beta add a non-steam game and after a few hours, when I tried again, it worked but only for one, and switching back to the old interface immediately fixed the problem.

necro'ing because i found a workaround - after you've browsed for the executable file and clicked "open," go back to "add a non-steam game" again and you'll now find your exe in the list. select it and click "Add Selected Programs" and it will now properly display in your library.

not sure why we have to do it twice, or why it doesn't take us back to the non-steam game menu after browsing, but here we are.
