How to Integrate & Play existing SWTOR launcher into Steam?
Does anyone have any idea how to integrate existing SWTOR launcher into steam w/o downloading all those 35-70GB (includes PTS) again.

Until EA negotiates something with Valve, Bioware would need to modify a launcher specific for Steam and Steam Wallet. However, the licensing for the game engine is expected to expire in 2023, so it does not make sense at this point as to why they would bother. But if you're looking to run the game through Steam for the Steam Overlay, then you would run it as a non-Steam game. My guide explains how to do this.

Basically rename the already downloaded folder to the one that's in steam directory, then move it to the steam directory and here you go^^ just did that and it worked

I have that option & had added this game (as on non-steam) much before game launched on steam & playing it, thinking one day when the game launches on steam it will count my play time..which is about 15k+ hrs. & 40k+ achievements.. but lol.. this that wont happen looks like..

1. When you run the SWTOR install via Steam, it creates a new SWTOR folder within the Steam folder. i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars - The Old Republic

2. Copy/Move all of the existing game files and sub-folders from where you originally installed the game, into the new Stream SWTOR folder. i.e C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars - The Old Republic

3. Once done, just launch the game in Steam.

NOTE: I would wait to delete/uninstall your original game until you know that you can properly patch/update the game via Steam. It should work since it uses the same SWTOR launcher, but you never truly know until you've tried it. :steamhappy:

Not all files need to be copied over; some are saying that doing so appears to break Steam integration.

Consider instead copying just the "assets", "movies", and "swtor" subfolders. These cover about 98% of the total installation. Everything else is trivially small.

if you used the BitRaider torrent installer instead of the original retail version installer, copied files may not work correctly and you may have to redownload normally.

Regarding play time tracking: no, time spent playing as a "Non-Steam Game" cannot carry over.

Devs say achievements will automatically carry over once implemented in Steam later this year.

Just move your swtor files from the bioware folder, into your steam library folder. then when you click download on steam, it will instead discover the already installed game
