So when I extracted the TVFix Winrar from the steam page it caused the game to crash on startup, but when I then extracted and copy/pasted the contents of the folder from the TVFix Reviver from the Special K the game the game is starting and running Special K without any problems.

I don't know if this is because the TVFix from the steam page is outdated, bugged, or is missing Vesperia's rolled back exe but getting the one from the zip folder at the Special K wiki runs perfectly without any problems.

Recently had to reinstall Special K to Vesperia but I can't remember if I'm supposed to install the Winrar from Steam or the zip folder from the Special K Wiki. Can anyone tell me which is the latest version I'm supposed to install that prevents the game from crashing on startup?

You generally can't make textures that were opaque originally transparent just by adding an alpha channel -- the game has to draw transparent things in reverse order based on their distance from the camera and after all opaque things. That draw order is expensive, so only done for objects that were transparent in the first place.

I'm working on some mods for Tales of Vesperia through Special K's DDS file replacement via Render Mod Tools feature, but editing the Alpha of the BC7 DDS file to make more complex costume textures in Photoshop only effects the texture's brightness on the model instead of its actual transparency. Is there any way to get actual transparency with Special K's texture replacement or is it only possible to replace opaque textures?
