What to do when Special K isn't injecting into a game?
Just looking for the quick and easy method for forcing Special K to properly inject into a game, when one discovers that it has decided to stop doing so.

I'll note that I am launching the game from within Special K, and the "Disable Special K" box is NOT checked. I've tried hiding/removing Special K's .ini file for the affected game, but this did not cause Special K to generate a new one and begin functioning again.

What led to this: Special K was initially working in the affected game (Hyperneptunia Re:Birth 1). However, I was attempting to make use of a separate mod by Durante, colloquially known as Hyperresolution Neptunia. The purpose of said mod is to enable arbitrary resolutions, importantly including 4K which the game does not inherently support. Regrettably, Special K does not play nice with Durante's mod, and its info windows were either blank or rendered oddly. I also noticed that Special K had brought up a "license agreement" window during all this, but because its rendering was incomplete, I could not tell what to do with it. It COULD be that this is what led to Special K deciding not to function with this game from that point on.

Incidentally, Durante's resolution mod for this game seems to no longer fully work; it fails to override the game's internal resolution setting, so no matter what you set it to, the output will be at the game's internal resolution. So if you set it to 4K, that goes: 4K -> 1080p. Net result: 1080p. I am hoping beyond hope that I can somehow get 4K by using Special K's resolution override, because otherwise I guess I will have to abandon this game that I paid good money for.

I never quite managed to get Special K to return in Neptunia Re:Birth on Steam, but it ends up being a moot point, because I won't play this game without 4K. The solution to that conundrum turns out to be to use a GOG version of the game, so Durante's mod can work as intended—Steam's copy of Re:Birth 1 has a new-ish patch from January, which seems to be what is preventing Durante's mod from working. I do not get the same issue from the GOG iteration. My complete solution is going to be to play the GOG copy, and migrate my game save to Steam whenever necessary for the sake of achievements. Better than nothing.

Incidentally, Special K did appear again in the GOG iteration of Re:Birth 1 (albeit once again with corrupt windows due to the presence of Durante's mod), so whatever is preventing it from injecting in Steam's copy of the same game must be a simple matter of some flag in some ini.
