Tales of Zestiria and Berseria not launching with Special K installed
Now this I don't understand. They were working perfectly fine some weeks ago when I was still actively playing now now when I went to launch either game steam would tell me it it is running, but nothing happens so I must terminate the process.

Through process of elimination I updated my nvidia driver (did nothing), uninstalled and reinstalled some redistributable packages (did nothing), even uninstalled and reinstalled the games (still nothing). Lastly I simply clicked to uninstall the fixes and now the games launch. I don't know about you but playing Zestiria at 30 fps for everything would drive me nuts after tasting 60.

Got any insight on why my system suddenly won't launch the games with the fixes installed?

Heck the only reason I was launching them was to test my new dualshock 4 and I came across this little oddity.

Just to be clear, you don't have the global injector of Special K installed and running? Only the local TBFix and TZFix mods installed in the game folders? If I understood it correctly (and I could be wrong, since I have neither the games nor mods to play around with) those aren't actually bundled with "Special K" same way as FAR//ReASON is.

I'd check and see if the mods creates any logs under game_folder\logs, and post those in this thread.

I discovered the problem. Something on my system broke Special K as a whole as whenever I attempted to reinstall a fix I'd get a d3d9.dll error.

I redownloaded Special K, installed the fixes again and now they are working. I guess I was just a victim of Window's breaking things randomly again without me touching it.

Problem solved.

This is happening to me as well, I have to reinstall TBFix every time I reboot or Berseria won't launch.

This is something that happens to me for Zesteria. I have to reinstall TZFix every time I don't play the game for a couple of hours, even without any reboots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good to know I'm not the only one seeing this.

I'm sure it's an issue with Windows than with the mod itself, since I only started seeing it after a system update.

this is something that always happens to me whenever i try to launch berseria, and I really dont know why, always have to uninstall and then reinstall the mod for it to work again

I found the solution. In the Version folder, there a file named installed.ini. You must change this:
[Update.User]
Frequency=6h
KeepDownloads=true
BackupFiles=false

To this:
[Update.User]
Frequency=never

I think it’s because the tales fix has problem to search for an update and the game won’t launch. If you use the manual install for the fix, the Version folder won’t be here and try to search for an update by default so you must have the installed.ini file with these two lines.

Thank you for this. This was the problem I was having. I didn't even realize it tried to self update.

no wonder the game is broken after installing the mod, dammit GitHub...
so the only way now is by manual install?

Having this problem now. I've uninstalled and re-installed the Berseria fix multiple times now and I can't get it to work. As far as I know there's no programs interfering with it either.
