The SourceJump Mapping Collaboration
For the next 30 days - I'm inviting all you mappers out there to take part in making the next community made bunnyhop map.

With no particular theme in mind, I'm giving you free creativity over your part. To ensure consistency however, we will all be using the same skybox and light_environment.

General mapping information
  • The map will be compiled for both CS:S and CS:GO. You should however be using hammer for CS:S.
  • Default textures and sounds in one game may not exist in the other. To save space, I will be replacing anything that doesn't with a default counterpart. Feel free to do this yourself and send in two vmf files (one for CS:S, and one for CS:GO).
  • LDR compile only (no HDR) for both games - let me know if you've got any objections.
  • I will not be imposing any particular restraints regarding length or detailing, but try to keep the optimal run under 2 minutes. You may be asked to compromise if your section is too big or detailed. Be wary when using custom content so we don't end up with a 500mb .bsp.
  • Each section will be connected to allow for fluid gameplay (think bhop_lego2). So when mapping, keep that in mind (leave room for the previous and next section).
  • No optimization other than func_detailing on your part. I will be optimizing every section with skip/hints, areaportals, etc. myself.
  • It has to be possible without the use of autobhop (CS:S).
  • Each section should have an atmospheric soundscape/soundscript. If you can't find or make anything, I will.
  • Don't make your level too difficult.
  • Decent length, not too short. Should take about 20 seconds to complete (autobhop, with pre-speed - optimal run)
  • Give your triggers, teleport destinations, etc. unique names to prevent conflicts.
  • We will be using the skybox "milita_hdr" and the light_environment from cs_militia.
  • Test your map. Ensure that everything is working properly and the gameplay is just the way you want it.

Will all levels be accepted or there will be a selection so that can remove all the trash lvl?(Exemple in comp3, almost 50% of them could have been not there for a fun map )

If a section is subpar it will not be included.
