ST3 tram derails when moving through a curve when it's coupled to another tram.
I noticed that due to the couplers being ridgid whenever a tram is coupled to another tram it will derail whenever it passes a curve or track junction.

Yes, you are right.

Im aware of the problem and worked on a few solutions. But there is at the moment no stable solution that will work very well.

I will work on it to fix it asap. If it is not possible to fix it in good manner, I will disable the coupling function for the tram for an indefinite time.

I'd like to add that the reason why they derail on tight curves is not entirely the couplers fault personally. Its the wheel base.

The wheels are very close to the center of the Tram and that causes the couplers to hang off the rails when going around a curve. Its almost as if the couplers are pullings the trams off because they are trying to counter act with the wheels.

All the other trains dont have that issue because the wheels are closer to the couplers than they are to the center of the car.

In fact, the normal SW Tram suffered from that same issue. Back in my "Add Coupler Variant to SW Tram" suggestion, you mentioned the couplers were never added because of the curves. I feel like its because of the wheels being too close to the center.

I do hate to barge into this discussion like this but I wanted to at least add on to it because I feel like what I stated could be the reason why these Trams struggle with these issues. I hope I was of help.

@FruitBerryCrunch
In this case Maxis is right, the couplers are the problem. The ST3 is designed in RL to have moveable couplers ofc. And the fact that i made it mostly exact as it original, I was aware from the beginning of this problem. And yes the Axle distance will also affect this issue in combination with stiff couplerarms.

It was just bad designed, how I made the tram. Not from the visual aspect but from the technical side. The ST3 suffered the most from all my trains of this issue, so I fixed it.

My other trains have also this issue you just can't see it on all tracks. But on specific points on the railway on the maps out there you will be able to notice it. Even my smallest train cars have this issue too.

But now this issue for the ST3 is fixed.
If you want discuss this more, send me a pm FruitBerryCrunch!
I will close this thread now.
